Do Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies Help Weight Loss?
Apple cider vinegar gummies for weight loss have no trials of their own. The studies used 15 to 30 mL of liquid vinegar a day and saw about 1 to 2 kg of change that faded after stopping. Mayo Clinic says apple cider vinegar is not likely to cause weight loss.

The short answer01
Do apple cider vinegar gummies help with weight loss?
Not in any way that has been shown. Apple cider vinegar gummies for weight loss have never been tested in a trial, as far as the sources we cite show.
What exists is research on liquid vinegar. Mayo Clinic reviews it and says apple cider vinegar is not likely to cause weight loss, and that studies were often small or limited (Mayo Clinic, ACV for weight loss).
A gummy is a pleasant way to take a supplement. That is not evidence that it works.
The best trial02
What did the vinegar trials actually find?
The main trial found small changes. In 175 adults, a daily drink with 15 or 30 mL of vinegar was followed by about 1 to 2 kg lower weight over 12 weeks (Kondo 2009, vinegar trial).
That is 750 to 1,500 mg of acetic acid a day. After people stopped, weight moved back toward where it began. The authors also worked for a vinegar maker, which is worth knowing (Kondo 2009, vinegar trial).
A 2025 review of 10 trials found small effects with large differences between studies. It also pooled a trial that was later retracted (Castagna 2025, ACV meta-analysis). Our post on the retracted vinegar study tells that story.
Gummy vs liquid03
How much vinegar is in a gummy?
Much less than the trials used, as far as the label lets us tell. One Jellutide gummy has a 525 mg blend of vinegar and BHB salts, and the exact split is not printed.
Blend order puts vinegar at no less than about 263 mg. Our arithmetic from the printed minerals suggests the BHB salts are at most about 27 mg, so the blend is probably mostly vinegar. These are ceilings from the label, not lab results.
Another gummy example cited by a University of Colorado endocrinologist held 500 mg of vinegar powder and 2 g of sugar, and he would pick plain vinegar in water over a gummy (CU Anschutz, ACV tonic and gummies).
| Source | Vinegar |
|---|---|
| Trial drink (Kondo 2009, vinegar trial) | 15 to 30 mL liquid a day |
| Example gummy (CU Anschutz, ACV tonic and gummies) | 500 mg vinegar powder |
| One Jellutide gummy | At least about 263 mg inside a 525 mg blend |

Are there downsides to vinegar for weight loss?
Yes, mostly for the throat, teeth and certain medicines. Vinegar is acidic, and Mayo Clinic says it may irritate the throat and weaken tooth enamel over time (Mayo Clinic, ACV for weight loss).
It may also affect diuretics and insulin. If you take either, ask your clinician first, and keep taking prescribed medicine as directed.
A vinegar tablet once injured an esophagus in a reported case (Hill 2005, ACV tablet esophageal injury). Take the gummy with a full glass of water, as the label says.

Your call05
Is a vinegar gummy worth trying?
It is a low-sugar way to take a small, mild ingredient, and it is not a shortcut. Treat weight loss as the sum of food, movement and sleep.

FAQ06
Questions about vinegar gummies
Are apple cider vinegar gummies as good as liquid vinegar?
No study compares them. Trials used 15 to 30 mL of liquid (Kondo 2009, vinegar trial), while one gummy holds a few hundred milligrams of blend. A gummy is easier to take, but the doses are not alike.
How long do vinegar studies last?
Mostly 8 to 12 weeks, according to a University of Colorado endocrinologist, who says the possible benefits are not well established (CU Anschutz, ACV tonic and gummies). Long-term results are largely unknown.
Can apple cider vinegar gummies replace a diet?
No. Mayo Clinic says vinegar is not likely to cause weight loss (Mayo Clinic, ACV for weight loss). Steady food choices and activity do the heavy lifting, and a supplement adds at most a small extra.
Do vinegar gummies hurt your teeth?
They are sticky and acidic, so rinse with water after eating one. Mayo Clinic notes acidic drinks can weaken enamel over time (Mayo Clinic, ACV for weight loss). Our teeth post has simple care steps.
